About partials
What is a partial denture?
A removable partial denture fills the gaps where teeth are missing. The replacement teeth sit on a gum-coloured base, and small clasps hold the partial to your remaining natural teeth so it stays in place when you eat and talk.
Filling gaps does more than improve your smile. It helps you chew properly and stops the teeth around the gap from drifting or tipping over time.
Your options
Types of partial dentures
Titanium and cast metal partials
A thin, strong metal framework that is very durable and comfortable. The most common long-term choice.
Flexible partials
A flexible, gum-coloured base with no metal clasps showing, for a more natural look.
Acrylic partials
A simpler, lower-cost option, often used short term or as an immediate partial after a tooth is removed.

How we make your partial

Design and lab work
Your partial is designed and made in our own lab, fitted around your natural teeth.
Fitting
We fit the partial, check your bite and adjust the clasps so it feels secure and comfortable.

- People missing a few teeth who still have healthy natural teeth
- Anyone who wants to avoid bridges or implants for now
- Patients who need a quick replacement after a tooth is removed

Questions
Partial denture FAQs
What is the difference between a metal and a flexible partial?
Metal and titanium partials are thinner and very durable. Flexible partials have no metal showing and can feel softer, but they are harder to adjust or add teeth to later.
Can you add a tooth to my partial later?
Often, yes, especially with metal and acrylic partials. Bring it in and we will check it in our lab.
Will a partial damage my natural teeth?
A well-fitted partial is designed to spread the pressure evenly. Keeping your natural teeth and the partial clean is the best way to protect them.
Does CDCP cover partial dentures?
CDCP covers partial dentures for eligible patients. We are a registered provider and can help you check your coverage.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly with us without seeing a dentist first.
