It is recommended to have a re-fit of your dentures every 2-3 years. A re-base is where all the “pink” part of the denture is replaced. This does 3 things: a custom re-fit to your gums, gets rid of the bacteria harboring in the old acrylic, and replaces the tired brittle acrylic so the dentures are less prone to cracking or teeth popping out.
